Over the last couple of years I have developed a kit that I can take out with me for sketching. I don’t usually have the chance to set up anywhere for a long period of time, so this kit works for me for quick sketches. Having something that I can pick up quickly makes it more likely that I will sketch outdoors regularly. It will keep evolving, but at the moment I have:
- Watercolour set
- A water brush
- A waterproof black pen
- HB Pencil
- Biro
- Small loose sheets of watercolour practice paper
- Small sketchbook
- A sheet of household roll
- Everything fits in a pencil case
Sometimes, depending on how much time and space I have and how much I want to carry, I will add in a pencil roll with Derwent Inktense pencils, a bigger sketchbook or a full set of pencils, but the kit above is my basic kit that I can easily add to my bag.
