Saturday 21st December is the Winter Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere, bringing the promise of more daylight and the hope of new life to come in Spring. While I wait for the daylight to return, I am enjoying candles, not only because they are pretty, but also because for me they represent hope. When it is very dark, a single candle transforms the space, and a single candle flame can be passed to others to spread that light. Where in my life do I need to light and nurture a candle flame to bring hope?
