The last few months have been relatively quiet in the studio, partly because the rest of the life was relatively busy in the run up to Christmas, and then January was partly taken up with admin and accounts as well as some planning (none of which is very photogenic!)
In November I started developing a theme around rivers and flow, which will probably be a longer term theme that will eventually develop into several larger pieces, exploring the patterns and colours of the water.
At the beginning of this year I am starting a few smaller pieces that are inspired by local walks and the shapes of the trees in Winter, so line is a key part of these. This time of year can be a time of mostly white, black and greys, especially when it’s snowed. The low Winter sun changes how a landscape looks too.
