As the bluebells start to flower again, I thought that I would mention a couple of bluebell woods close to me that I have enjoyed visiting.

Collier Hag Wood near Helmsley

Collier Hag Wood lies north-west of Helmsley in North Yorkshire, and part of it has carpets of Bluebells in May. The public footpath leads from the B1257 on the edge of Helmsley, along Beck Dale and through Collier Hag Wood. It can become a circular walk by taking the footpath west near High Baxton’s Farm and crossing the road to meet up with the Tabular Hills Walk back through Ash Dale into Helmsley (check an Ordnance Survey map or similar for navigation).
Thornborough Henges (Northern Henge)

The Northern Henge of Thornborough Henges is located near Nosterfield, and is managed by English Heritage. The henge is part of three circular henges from the Neolithic period that make up Thornborough Henges. The banks of the henge are still visible, and the area is covered in woodland.
